The CTE EXPO was honestly a great experience for me. A few days before the actual event, I felt a bit nervous and worried. I thought I wouldn't know what to say and come across with my thoughts and ideas. I really wanted to express the fact that web design is the best academy out of the three. I guess I just wanted to make the best appearance for freshmen, juniors, seniors and school staff. Especially Mrs. Ramirez, since she expected the greatest part of me to be unleashed. As the event was coming even closer, I felt more and more worried about my project. I rushed it really bad and I didn't feel like it showed the great LESLI I wanted it to display. But soon the day came and I felt fine about it. I felt very relaxed and classy since we dressed up in business attire. It was on a sunny Thursday, March 10, 2016 that the EXPO took place. All of my peers had different periods to attend the EXPO and either help out or show the freshmen why they should chose web design instead of apple and video academy. I had periods 5-7, including the period I usually have web design class. At first I felt really hyped and excited to tell what I know and include the pros of web design. But as the day went by, I felt less excited about the whole event honestly.
So the first period I was helping out in the CTE EXPO, which was 5th period, I was somewhat nervous but very joyous about freshmen coming to our room and looking around. I wanted them to turn their frown upside down and inform them what this academy was really about! And so they did come and a few teachers came along like Ms. Kinzer, Ms. Ringhauser, Ms. Hyde and a few I didn't know. I tried to present myself in a very kind way. I did the same for the rest of the other 2 periods, everything was ok. I felt very tired by the end. A lot of us did feel fatigued from walking around, talking in the ruckus and standing around waiting to show someone something. But it was all worth it, in my opinion. This experience helps us mature and grow as a person. It pushes us to be more out spoken and learn skills of how to present and inform someone else of something you do or are learning. It also helps you learn how to persuade others to join you in this web design academy. Hopefully, those who heard me will soon try to enter this amazing academy. By the end of this whole event, we took a whole web design academy picture and the event wrapped up great!
